"No, it's not my idea": Eric Ciotti will not be a presidential candidate

"No, it's not my idea," replied the leader of the small UDR party to France Inter journalists when asked about his desire to run in 2027.

Mr. Ciotti did not want to make "plans on the comet" if Marine Le Pen could not be a candidate in 2027 because of her conviction at first instance but judged that the young age of Jordan Bardella (who will be 31 years old in spring 2027) was "not a handicap" .

"The future will prove us right"

The Alpes-Maritimes MP has once again called on Bruno Retailleau, the new president of LR, to "break his alliance with the Macronists" and "join" the union of the right.

"I am convinced that the future will prove us right. The right cannot win without an alliance with the National Rally . The rest is a fable. The rest is deceiving right-wing voters," he insisted.
